In this article, we will be focusing on the best airsoft rifles for 2021.  We rate our rifles by several factors, namely; price point, build quality/durability, and overall bang for your buck. Also, this year, we have decided to focus on AEG platforms. Without further ado, here is our list of the top six guns to look at in the new year. These are not in any particular order, and of course, do your own research on each of these systems.

G and G Combat Machine M4 Raider Shorty

G and G Combat Machine Shorty

The G and G Combat Machine M4 is built around the M4 frame. This airsoft gun package can be purchased with a battery and charger. It can also be purchased on its own. These guns are fully electric, utilizing a 9.6v NiMH Nunchuck Battery or a 7.4v Lipo battery which can be purchased as an aftermarket part.  An 11.1v Lipo can be utilized as well for increased ROF, however, wear and tear will be increased.  The frame is polymer, but the barrel is aluminum lined.  The gearbox, hop up and other internals can also be replaced or upgraded. FPS is roughly 350 which is excellent for any oppositional environment but most suitable for CQB and midrange usage. The front site, which sits on a 7-inch quad rail system, is fixed. The quad rail is made of a high-quality polymer which decreases overall weight and suitability for CQB scenarios. The gun can be purchase in tan or black and is an absolute gem.

Lancer Tactical Gen 2 SPR “Interceptor” LT-25 AEG

Lancer Tactical Gen 2 Interceptor AEG

All I can say is what a beauty; especially in tan. Lancer Tactical is known for their well made yet inexpensive entry-level AEGs and this one will not disappoint. The Lancer Tactical Gen 2 SPR can be purchased in low or hi velocity; high reaching up to 390 FPS. As stated, the gun is electric, utilizing a 9.6v NiMH Nunchuck Battery. The gearbox and gearset are fully metal for added durability, and the fore-end and receiver are made of a high-quality polymer. The hop up is adjustable and rotary style. The gun weighs approximately 4.3 lbs so it’s not too heavy to lug around. The rail system is massive and the look is aggressive. The handguard extension is removable, but why remove it, it looks so good! LT also added flip-up front and rear sites.  What more do you want?

Elite Force M4 AEG Automatic

Elite Force M4

The Elite Force M4 AEG is a combat M4 variant made for CQB operations. This gun boasts 315 FPS which is on the lower end, but suitable for indoor gameplay. This full metal outer barrel is fitted with a phenomenal looking mock suppressor which is integrated on to a short rail system. The body is made of a lightweight polymer, making it great for CQB scenarios. The V2 gearbox and gearset are full metal of course, fully upgradeable. As stated, FPS is low and the range is 150 ft so this gun is made for the CQB Milsim operator. Also, the enhanced retractable crane stock comes with a push-button butt cover which allows easy access to the battery. And let’s face it, that two-tone look is outstanding.

Amoeba AM-005 AEG Automatic

Amoeba AM-005

The Amoeba AM-005 certainly has a distinctive look. The profile is slightly reminiscent of the KRISS Vector. This shorty, CQB style gun sports an aluminum outer barrel and flash hider. Even the handguard is aluminum with a four-sided Picatinny rail system great for all the gun Gucci you can think of. The upper and lower is a nylon polymer for decreased weight and the side folding stock can be utilized for an even increased level of CQB superiority. And because there is no buffer tube, the battery is stored in an extended portion of the top rail system. FPS is up to 370 so check your locals for velocity requirements. It also sports a V2 metal gearbox which is fully upgradeable. This little beast can be purchased in black or dark earth and just looks amazing right out of the box! Definitely a head-turner on the field.

Krytac Kriss Vector Airsoft Gun AEG

Krytac Kriss Vector

We just looked at a gun that was reminiscent of the famous Kriss Vector. This Krytec Kriss Vector AEG’s housing and folding stock are fully licensed by the company. Krytac has come out with a beauty of a gun. This AEG comes in black, is fully electric, and can shoot in semi, two-round burst, and full-auto. The hopup is adjustable as it should be. The Gearbox is an 8mm Vector Mechbox and I am not aware of any upgrades which can be purchased for it. Nonetheless, the box and gear set are fully metal and durable. FPS is up to 360 with a range of 100-150 feet making it great for CQB and mid-range scenarios. Gun is Lipo ready and requires the use of the 7.4v or 11.1v lipo stick batteries. It sports an electronic trigger and Mosfet systems which eliminates arcing and carbon buildup within the battery. The upper rail is plenty spacious for optics or other Gucci and already comes with Defiance®  front and rear folding stocks. This one is a little more expensive than the others on our list, however, the sturdy construction, all-metal gearbox, and Mosfet system will keep it running for a good long while.

Valken ASL+Series M4 AEG

Valken ASL+Series M4

You are not going to believe the price of this exceptional, out of the box AEG. The Valken ASL+Series M4 AEG is less than 200 but sports many features of higher-end guns. For starters, the muzzle velocity is a respectable 375 FPS. It ships with a 300 round hi-cap magazine. This gun will use the standard 9.6v 1600mAh split type NiMh and 7.4 Lipo and is wired with small Tamiya connectors. If you intend to run lipo, look at a Mosfet upgrade that could increase the life of your gun. The V2 gearbox is all metal for increased durability, but also upgradable. And yes, it does have a rotary style hopup system. Unfortunately, batteries do not come with this gun so it must be purchased separately. Nonetheless, the bang for the buck with this gun is out of this world.
